IS MARRIAGE A CURE FOR LONELINESS? I'd start by talking more on marriage and loneliness before I give my answers and reasons... Marriage is a union of man and woman in a solemnity which is to continue till death seperates themboth. Inotherwords, marriage from the catechism of the catholic teachings tells us more.... Loneliness means to be lonely, alone, living almost rejected, to live like an outcast, to be forcibly seperated from, something's missing.... Listening to a preacher who tried to make excuses concerning marriage as not neccessary and not compulsory, began this reactive sensation within me... Though 50% correct but it is 150% wrong... He even said"there is nowhere in the bible thatGod made it compulsory or necessary to get married" Let's look at the bible from the onset... "God made man and placed him in the garden of Eden to take care of it...(Gen 2), He then said "it is not good for the man toLIVE ALONE. I will make a suitable companion to help him"(Gen 2 : 21, 22, 23,24)and from man's ribsGod made a woman... Here, you have it that man was lonely though he was with other creatures and God deemed it wisefor him to have a "companion" not a "partner" or a "friend". Again the preacher said "God never made it mandatory to get married" Right from time, it has been a command to all that God created on Earth... "have many children so that your descendants will live all over the earth and subdue it" (Gen 1 : 28). Is this not enough? If you must have descendants, medically or scientifically, ­ can a man alone do this? God told Abram "I will make you father of many nations" did this happen without Sarah? When Goddestroyed the Earth with water, was Noah single? So, why then should someone say such things? Though it is said that IF you can stay without women you can do so, but that's almost impossible except for the unacceptable and most morally derayed lifestyles of some individuals..as ­k some eunuchs, they'd say, they would have prefered been a family man than become castrated. Priests aside...they are selected few out of thousands of peoples to make direct contact with God as most of them need not marry... Like prophet Samuel, Ezekiel and awhole lots of them except the high priest Eli and others.... This is so for them because 99.99% if not all is dedicated to God alone and none other... Inotherwords, everyperson who is not a priest like of old, like Melchizedeck, should honor that which was given him "multiply and subdue the earth"... What's so funny, he even said it's better you stay unmarried than get married, but he got married atage 25... I support that... When you feel that you can't get marriedor not yet ready for marriage, no problem, pray towards it so that you don't find yourself comiting a sin... How? Women of nowadays are damn pretty and the urge to have them can't be totally subdued, not when the Devil is around... You better find that which is compactible with you and get married than try them all to know which or stay unmarried and try to fight that urge... Brb with more...
